Statics
Humans love visual content; they are easier for us to process and retain. We process visual content 60,000 times faster than text with a higher retention rate (65% to 10%). Social media content that contain visuals have 94% more views and 37% higher user engagement. However, of all the visual contents (infographics, videos, images), videos are the most powerful.
A study by Invodo shows that including the word ‘video’ in an email subject line will increase open rate by 19% and conversion rate by 65%. A video on a landing page will improve conversion rates by 80%.
A similar research by Comscore shows that videos on a website increases the chance of ranking on the first page of Google by 53%.
Research by Hubspot shows that 85% of businesses used video as a marketing tool in 2019 while 78% of the consumers want more videos in their social feed. 64% of those clients admit that watching a video on Facebook influenced a buying decision.
It is no wonder that 95% of video marketers plan to increase or maintain their current spend. In our interactions with businesses across different niches, we recognized that the problem is not that videos do not work but that the strategy they use cannot produce the intended results. Strategy is everything. Two companies can have the same video marketing budget but the one with the superior strategy will win every time.
Case Study
A study by Ascend2 and Vidyard confirmed our diagnosis: 44% of marketers believe lack of an effective strategy is the number one challenge for their video marketing.
We noticed three primary problems with most of these brands:
They find it difficult to engage with their target audience: They produce videos but they do not get the views, comments, subscriptions, and shares.
They find it difficult to convey a consistent brand image through harmonious messaging: It is very hard to recognize the brand voice, image, and positioning. All they have are a number of disparate videos with little or no overarching connection.
They find it difficult to measure the success of their video marketing campaigns.
In the same report by Ascend2 and Vidyard, 30% of the marketers agree that lack of metrics is their major problem.
